Last night was one of those pinch-me moments!

The Business Sisterhood officially launched, and what a night it was, filled with connection, celebration, and plenty of book signing!!

I’m incredibly proud to have contributed a chapter alongside 30 other inspiring women, each sharing their real, honest life and business journeys. The challenges, the growth, the lessons, and the courage it takes to back yourself.

If you’re thinking about starting your own business, or you’re already on the journey and need reassurance that you’re not alone, this is a book worth getting your hands on.

It’s practical, heartfelt, and deeply inspiring.

DM me for a copy.

So grateful to be part of this powerful sisterhood 💕 and thank you Andrea and Women With Altitude for giving me this platform to share my journey in print, and forever!

I’m excited to have contributed a chapter to The Business Sisterhood sharing my experience of starting my own business as an introvert!

I have written about the challenges I faced, the mindset shifts required, and the lessons learned along the way.

While my chapter is personal, the message is for anyone thinking about starting their own business or already on that journey and wanting to learn from real experiences.

I’m proud to share that my article “Business Traps for Women to Drop in 2026” has been published in the Brave Magazine by Women With Altitude.

After working closely with women in business for years, I see the same issues come up repeatedly:

• mixing personal and business finances
• running growing businesses on outdated or “borrowed” documents
• hesitating to enforce their own terms
• growing revenue without protecting IP
• expanding without the right legal structure
• undervaluing time, skills, and expertise

In this article, I break down these common traps and share what the 2026 legal upgrade looks like for women who are serious about building sustainable, protected, and profitable businesses.

Thank you to Women With Altitude for creating space for honest conversations about growth, boundaries, and legal confidence in business.

Your business is worth protecting. And so are you.

Okay… given my rather crappy thank-you speech at the Awards night, here’s my do-over!

Still pinching myself after receiving the Brave Award at the Women With Altitude Awards!

Bravery isn’t always loud, sometimes it’s the quiet act of showing up, backing yourself, and doing the hard things anyway.

Grateful for my family, friends, clients, and this amazing community that keeps me inspired every day!

Back in 2013, I took the leap—literally—off a bungy platform from the Kawarau bridge, Queenstown, New Zealand. Fear tried to hold me back, but in that moment, I realised how powerful it is to step outside your comfort zone.

As a woman in business, the challenges you face can often feel just as daunting. But success comes when you push through fear and take that leap of faith, trusting in your ability to rise.

If you are holding back because of doubt, uncertainty, or fear, remember that growth lies on the other side of your comfort zone.

Take the jump. Trust yourself. You’ve got this.

Ladies, remember this: Self-care isn't a luxury—it's a necessity!

Running a business or managing a hustle can be demanding, but you are the heart and soul of it. Taking the time to recharge, rest, and refocus will only strengthen your path to success.

When you prioritise yourself, you are not just investing in your well being—you are investing in your business.

So today, take that walk, meditate, enjoy a cup of tea (hot chocolate like I do), or simply breathe. You deserve it! The better you feel, the better you lead.

Choosing the Right Builder: Key Steps for a Stress-Free Project

Building or renovating your home is a major investment! We saw a house being built in the suburb we live in with bricks going up without any frames up, for the sake of the owner, we hope the builder is building a structurally sound house and in accordance with Australian building standards. Are you looking at building or renovating your property?

Before signing on the dotted line with a builder, it’s crucial to be well-informed and make the right choice.

Here are key steps to identify a reliable builder:

1. Do Your Research: Check if the builder is licensed and insured. Look for reviews and testimonials from past clients.

2. Get Multiple Quotes: Don’t just go with the first builder you find. Compare quotes, but also consider the quality of work and not just the price.

3. Ask for References: Speak to previous clients about their experience with the builder. Were deadlines met? Was the quality of work up to standard?

4. Review Contracts Carefully: Ensure that all terms, timelines, and payment schedules are clearly outlined and fair.

5. Visit Past Projects: If possible, inspect their completed work to see the craftsmanship firsthand.

At New Wave Legal, we assist clients with reviewing contracts and ensuring you are legally protected before committing to any builder. Don’t take chances with your dream project—get expert advice first!

How to Stay Flexible in Legal Negotiations Without Losing Out

Negotiation in the legal world is often seen as a balancing act. You want to achieve the best outcome, but being too rigid can sometimes close doors that might have led to a better resolution. Here’s how you can maintain flexibility in negotiations while still securing a favourable outcome:

1. Know Your Bottom Line:
Flexibility doesn’t mean compromising on your essential goals. Clearly define the minimum terms you’re willing to accept before entering negotiations.

2. Focus on Interests, Not Positions:
Understand the underlying interests of both parties rather than sticking strictly to positions. This opens up creative solutions that satisfy both sides.

3. Be Prepared to Give and Take:
Consider what you can offer in exchange for concessions. Flexibility can create goodwill, leading to more productive negotiations and a better overall deal.

4. Keep Emotions in Check:
Negotiations can be tense, but keeping a calm, professional manner ensures that you’re making decisions based on logic, not emotions.

5. Third-Party Input:
Sometimes, bringing in a neutral third party can help bridge gaps and keep negotiations on track.

Remember, being flexible doesn’t mean being weak—it’s about finding the most effective path to the best possible outcome. Stay adaptable, and you might just discover opportunities you hadn’t considered before.
