Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
With 70 years at the helm, the Queen is the longest ruling Monarch in British history. At the young age of 25 she acceded to the throne on 6 February 1952 until her death on 8 September 2022.
From day one she pledged her life to service to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth linking more than two billion people together.
Throughout her reign, she has touched the lives of people throughout the world. She will be remembered for her sense of duty and her devotion to a life of service. Queen Elizabeth II reigned with dignity, class, humour and wisdom.
