Happy New Year to you and your team. 2022 is going to be an interesting year!

After many months of promising that we would launch our Resource Library, we are finally doing it! It has taken a lot of effort and time to produce. Our focus initially has been on the new Statutory Trust requirements as that is affecting many clients and the industry generally and there is very little ‘real’ and/or correct information available. You can always read the legislation in detail of course, and you still need to do that, but hopefully our Resource Library provides you with detailed information so at least you know whether it applies to your projects and if it does, what you need to do to comply.

You can access the Resource Library from our website. Feel free to have a look around and let us know if you have any queries or think we should add something more. Access is free.

Over time, we will be adding detailed information for other key legislative requirements for the Qld building and construction industry such as Progress Payments, QBCC Act requirements, and contractual requirements. If you have any suggestions for other topics, please also let us know.

Please also remember that we offer inhouse workshops/training for you and your team, can assist with implementing software to manage Statutory Trusts and other obligations, and can provide ad hoc or regular project management/contract administration services if you require a little extra help to manage your projects.

Finally, we will shortly be adding General Retainer Services to our offering for those clients who would prefer to engage us on a regular basis for ad hoc and specific legal advice. This will consist of either a monthly package (where you can access legal advice for a certain number of hours per month) or a one-off package (where you can access legal advice for a certain number of hours over a 3 month period). A number of our clients have indicated that they would benefit from an ‘inhouse counsel’ type arrangement where advice can be given on an ad hoc basis when our client needs it and not just for a specific task. Details will be added to our website over the next few days so please check back and let us know if you are interested in that arrangement.

Another busy week on the GC helping our clients!

Thank you to everyone who attended our Round Table: Risk and Reward in a Red Hot Market night on Thursday with Xact Accounting. We had a great night with lots of active discussion on various issues being experienced by the residential sector in particular. Times are tough but we are always here to help however we can !
