Running and jumping? Personally, I’ve opted out. Strategy, teamwork and rolling with purpose? Now we’re talking. 🏀🐾
Love what the Hervey Bay Dingoes are building for inclusive sport in our community. 🧡💙
Running and jumping not your thing?
Me neither. My school PE teacher can absolutely attest to that. 😅
Thankfully, wheelchair basketball isn’t about how fast you can sprint down a court or how high you can jump. It’s about skill, strategy, teamwork, determination and having a whole lot of fun along the way.
So who was wheelchair basketball designed for?
Short answer: Legends. 😎
Long answer: Anyone who’s got the passion to play and zero interest in letting physical differences keep them on the sidelines.
Wheelchair basketball was created so people who may not be able to participate in running basketball can still experience the excitement of the game.
That includes people with:
🦿 Limb differences and amputations
🦴 Spinal cord injuries
🧠 Cerebral palsy
⚡ Neurological conditions
♿ Paraplegia and quadriplegia
🦵 Limited joint mobility, arthritis or contractures
➕ And many other physical disabilities
The best part? You don’t need to fit into a box to fit onto the court.
Different bodies. One court. Endless buckets. 🏀
At the Hervey Bay Dingoes Wheelchair Basketball Club, we welcome players of all ages, abilities and experience levels. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or someone who’s never touched a basketball before, there’s a place for you in the pack.
Can’t run with the pack?
No worries.
We’ll roll together. 🐾🧡💙
