Last week, we welcomed forty of our members for a memorable morning of connection and conversation at Elizabeth Quay. The energy in the room was vibrant, and the atmosphere set the tone for a genuinely engaging start to the day.

This gathering wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Kelly Crossley and TRANSITAINER (WA) Pty Ltd. Kelly is a standout in the freight forwarding industry and has been one of our most consistent supporters over the past six years.

Thank you to all members and guests who joined us—we’re looking forward to an eventful couple of months ahead!

This is the worst that tech will ever be.

That was the wake-up call from our recent Thrive Talks session with Drew Mayhills.

If the AI we have today is the “worst” version we’ll ever use again, the real challenge for small businesses isn’t speed; it’s value.

As AI becomes more integrated in how we work, here are three shifts worth thinking about:

1️⃣ Don’t just use AI, challenge itMost people use AI to get answers faster. The real advantage is using it to think better.Push it. Question it. Let it challenge your ideas.

2️⃣ Fix the system before you automateIf the process is messy, automation just makes it messier… faster.Clean your inputs, start small, and build from what’s already working.

3️⃣ Stay human where it mattersAI can handle tasks. But trust, relationships, and judgement still sit with us.That’s where the real value is shifting.

The takeaway:AI won’t replace us, but it will raise the bar on how we show up.

You need to stop and think that if AI is taking care of the doing, where are you creating the most human value in your business?

A big thank you Drew for leading such a powerful and practical session!
