Dear Colleagues,

As you are aware, Tranche 2 Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Funding (AML/CTF) law reforms will be enforced in July 2026.
We understand that the implementation is causing anxiety among members of our network as not all the details have been made clear.

We need answers.

An exclusive and intimate video podcast with AUSTRAC CEO Brendan Thomas, who is overseeing the legislation will seek to provide clarity on timelines, obligations, and penalties. Independently produced by The Australian Conveyancer magazine, the program called Settlement Day, will be broadcast at midday on Thursday, November 6.

Shakila Maclean (Victoria) and I will join the discussion with Mr Thomas which is being moderated by television presenter and Seven Network Property Editor Angelique Opie.

Shakila and I are pushing an industry perspective based on our discussion with the members, and a representative sample of questions provided to the Australian Conveyancer by partitioners nationwide.
