Kellys Property, formerly Kelly & Sons Real Estate, owes its origins to managing director Rowen Kelly’s grandfather, William A. Kelly (pictured) a prominent and colourful figure in the NSW Central West commercial and rural life at the turn of the century. Kelly founded his stock and station and real estate agency in Parkes, New South Wales. William’s sons, Ken and Vic, helped their father in the b
usiness, mastering the skills and expertise in real estate practice and learning the importance of building a reputation based on competent and honest fair trading. Ken Kelly with his wife Eunice relocated the family business from Parkes to Newtown after Ken returned from World War II (being wounded in action on the Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea). Ken and Eunice were then joined by their sons Rowen and Victor (after attending Trinity Grammar). Kellys Property has seen many developments since its inception in 1907. During the ‘eighties’, Kellys expanded to 16 branch offices and some 150 staff members but in the ‘mid nineties’ Rowen decided to downsize to the original Newtown office with 23 dedicated and experienced team members thus enabling Kellys to again provide personalised service and outstanding results. The most recent change being in 2010 when Rowen with his wife Adele contemporised Kellys to reflect the new century with a rebranding, new logo design, website, training methods and injection of fresh talent. Today, Kellys Property has developed into a major independent agency practice specialising in the inner city/inner west suburbs of Sydney.
