3 things to check before you commit:

𝟏. 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫
It’s not just the rent. Look at term, options, rent reviews, outgoings, and make-good obligations. The true cost is often hidden in the detail.

𝟐. 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞

In NSW (and most Australian states), a sibling does not automatically have a right to claim on an estate. A sibling may be able to make a family provision claim if they can show:

🔹 They were dependent on the deceased (financially or otherwise), or
🔹 They were a member of the deceased’s household, and
🔹 The deceased failed to make adequate provision for their proper maintenance, education or advancement in life.
