A busy few days for our team with back-to-back community events!

It was wonderful to again be part of NALAG’s Dying2Know Day & the annual Seniors Expo, sharing important information on wills & estate planning.

Events like these are a great opportunity to connect with the local community, answer questions & help people feel more confident about planning their future.

A huge thanks to NALAG Grief Support & Oak Tree Retirement Villages for organising these vital initiatives.

Over the past six months, 28,000 NSW residents reported scams, worth nearly $57 million.

It’s a startling figure, particularly as scammers become increasingly sophisticated with how they target & steal your money & information.

This Scam Awareness Week, we’re sharing some simple ways to stay scam-smart:

🔎 Check who you’re dealing with before sharing money or personal information. This is especially important during property settlement matters.
📱 Don’t click suspicious links
đź’¬ Verify payment or bank details directly, using independently sourced contact details.
🚨 If something doesn’t feel right, stop and seek advice

If you think you’ve been scammed or need help understanding your legal options, our team is here to help.

Co-parenting apps are becoming increasingly commonplace in Australia; in fact, many courts are now mandating their use in parenting arrangements.

We’ve rounded up some of the co-parenting apps we recommend, designed to improve day-to-day co-ordination, keep important information in one place & support smoother communication between parents.

Head to our latest blog for all the pros & cons of co-parenting apps & why they’re worth investing in.

This one’s for the sport mums 🏉

A shout out to all the parents braving the cold at Glen Willow each week to cheer on their kids at weekend sport.

Yes, it’s chilly, but there’s nothing quite like watching your kids thriving on the sporting field, having fun with their mates & kicking a ball around! Good luck to Sally’s under 12s – already minor premiers & through to the semi-final on August 22!

And if you need us, we’ll be at the washing machine - working our way through another pile of muddy rugby uniforms!

Did you know that 1 in 20 Australians have reported experiencing some form of reproductive coercion or abuse?

Reproductive coercion occurs when someone uses pressure, manipulation, threats, or control to interfere with another person’s reproductive choices.

It can look like:
đźš© Tampering with or removing contraception
đźš© Refusing to use contraception or deliberately damaging condoms
đźš© Pressuring someone to become pregnant
đźš© Pressuring someone to have an abortion
đźš© Preventing someone from accessing contraception, pregnancy tests, or healthcare
đźš© Threatening to leave, hurt or punish someone based on their reproductive choices
đźš© Monitoring or controlling decisions about pregnancy and birth

In NSW, reproductive coercion is recognised as a criminal act under the new coercive control laws, introduced in 2024.

But advocates continue to push for greater recognition of reproduction coercion in its own right – watch this space…
