The Department of Home Affairs has recently started sending “Assessment Commenced” letters to applicants with skilled visa applications under subclass 189, 190 and 491.

If you receive one, it’s a good time to make sure your application is completely up to date:

✅ Check that all required documents are uploaded
✅ Renew your health examinations if they have expired
✅ Renew your police checks if required
✅ Make sure your personal and supporting information is current

An assessment commencement letter means your application is now being assessed, so don’t wait until a case officer requests an updated document.
