Your ranking considers:
✅ Age
✅ English language level
✅ Experience in your nominated occupation
✅ Educational qualifications
✅ Occupation skill level
✅ Partner’s skills, where applicable
✅ Earnings from skilled employment in Victoria, where applicable

🏥 Priority occupations fall within Healthcare, Social Assistance, Education and Construction.

📌 The VPT has no fixed pass mark. Invitations depend on your ranking and competition in each round. You must also meet the separate Australian Government points test and relevant eligibility requirements.

AITSL has extended the validity of Academic IELTS results from 2 years to 3 years. 🎉

✅ More flexibility for teachers planning their migration journey
✅ Now aligned with teacher registration authorities across Australia

If your Academic IELTS test is still within 3 years, you may now be able to use it for your AITSL skills assessment.

Australia’s 2026–27 Permanent Migration Program!

Australia will keep its Permanent Migration Program at 185,000 places for 2026–27, with around 70% allocated to skilled migrants and 30% to family visas.

The Government is placing greater emphasis on applicants already in Australia, but this does not mean everyone onshore will qualify for permanent residency.

Your chances of obtaining PR still depend on factors such as your occupation, points score, English language ability, skills assessment, state nomination, employer sponsorship, and meeting all visa requirements.

Overall, the announcement provides stability and confirms Australia’s ongoing need for skilled migrants, but eligibility remains based on individual circumstances.
