AED Legal Centre helps people with disability in Victoria who experience discrimination in the areas of education and employment, or who seek to review decisions about their NDIS plans AED Legal Centre staff provide the following services:
• Legal advocacy in employment, education or training linked to an individual’s disability
• NDIS Appeals Program – legal advocacy for NDIS participants who wan

t a review of an NDIA decision by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT
Training in disability discrimination and employment law
• The Night of Justice Program - a legal advisory service every Wednesday night 6:30pm onwards. The service is staffed by volunteer law students and legal practitioners
• Projects aimed at increasing access to employment, education and/or training by people with ad disability
• Information services to: employers, employees, disability professionals, government, school principals and universities.
• A Student Placement Program for law students enrolled at Victorian universities.

We are very excited that Kairsty Wilson, our CEO and Principal Legal Practitioner, has won an Enablement Award as The Most Outstanding Disability Employment Advocate in Australia in 2025. The Enablement Awards were presented at a ceremony in Melbourne last week.

The Australian Government has released a new 10 year Disability Employment Strategy. It is called Employ My Ability.

There is lots of information on the DSS website about the strategy including Easy Read.
