Did you know that the Federal Government has announced a ban on foreign investors from buying established homes for at least two years and a crack down on foreign land banking.

From 1 April 2025, foreign investors (including temporary residents and foreign owned companies) will no longer be able to purchase an established dwelling in Australia while the ban is in place unless an exception applies.

In 1989, Ian was a founding and executive member of the Association of Property Conveyancers (as AIC NSW was then known). Although a surveyor at the time Ian strongly advocated for the creation of the Conveyancer Licensing Act 1995, which set the foundation for licensed conveyancing as a profession.

Ian's professional commitment was to serve as an Executive Member of AICNSW, participate in numerous consulting committee and has generously shared his time and expertise. His contribution has been recognised by the conveyancing community with Life Membership of AICNSW and a Fellowship of AIC National.

We are beyond proud and honoured to share that one of our founders, Ian Marler, has been awarded a Member of the Order of Australia in 2025 for services to conveyancing, surveying and the community! Ian and Lorna Marler opened Conveyancing Services in 1986 and remained active in the business until their retirement, and are great friends and advisors with staff to this day.
