Review of the Australian Migration System announced! Here are the highlights👇🏻

- After 10 years without changes,
the minimum salary for Sponsorship Visas (TSMIT) will increase to $70,000 from July 1.

- By the end the year, there will be permanent residence pathways for workers sponsored under the short-term stream.

- There will be 3 streams to Skilled Visas: Specialised Highly Skilled, Mainstream Skilled and Essential Skills.

- There will be changes to the Skilled Occupation List, Skills Assessment and Points Test.

- A new Global Talent visa program as well as a Business Innovation and Investment Visa program.

- Strengthening of the Student Visa program with a focus on integrity and focus on attracting bright students to study in Australia.

According to Clare O'Neil, Minister for Home Affairs, this proposal is a pathway to fixing Australia’s migration system.

Breaking News: Since the Federal Government has issued thousands of invitations for the 189 visa, NSW removed their extra state nomination criteria that required minimum years of work experience and minimum points score. The visa criteria remains the same.

Sponsorship visa news: Australian Government has released a new Order of Consideration for the Sponsorship TSS Visa 482.

Although it sounds very technical, in practice this new direction sets out the order of priority for processing nomination and visa applications.

Applications will be processed in this order:
1 - Those where the nominated occupations are in Healthcare or Teaching
2 - Applications lodged by Accredited Sponsors
3 - Applications where the position will be carried out in a designated regional area - we’ve been having some speedy results here already!
4 - all other applications
Priority is also being given to applicants who are still located outside Australia, in an effort to bring skilled workers in as soon as possible

What is the Jobs and Skills Summit, and why is it important for the future of Skilled Migration in Australia?

The Jobs and Skills Summit was held in Canberra on the 1st and 2nd of September 2022. The new Labor Government organized it to discuss the current economic climate and how Australia as a country can deal with the huge shortage of skilled workers being experienced now.

The government acknowledges that without attracting skilled professionals from other countries, the Australian economy cannot move forward. As a result, the Government released plans to expand and strengthen the Skilled Migration Program, which could mean more chances and possibilities for you!
