As with the failure to do their job in the banking sector, now its the franchising sector. Once upon a time, Government appointed regulators answered to a Government department and a minister was responsible. What happened to that?

The 354-page parliamentary report is a withering indictment of a sector that has been allowed to do the wrong thing by its franchisees for years.

Hopefully, this post Royal Commission compensation scheme may bring some justice to the victims of falsified loan applications and of the Banks failure to vet them, but there's no time to waste as it appears the 'window' will only be open for 12 months and apply only to loans made after 1 January 2008.

The Morrison government has promised to establish a compensation scheme paid for by the financial services industry as it seeks to avoid damage from the banking royal commission.
