Are non-refundable deposits really non-refundable?

Yes, non-refundable deposits are legal in NSW; but that doesn’t mean you can never get your money back.  The real issue comes down to whether the business in question has incurred any expenses in relation to your agreement.

Our story

The Corcoran family have been practicing law for over 85 years, offering you friendly expertise in legal services with realistic cost estimates.

The founder, John Corcoran, studied at Sydney University during the Great Depression and in 1933 opened his own practice in York St. In 1963 he opened his new practice based in Gosford, with his son Peter J. Corcoran joining the practice in 1968. Peter still runs the business today, offering our clients over 50 years of experience in the legal profession. Peter is assisted by his daughter, Tara, a 15 year veteran of the IT industry and current law student.

For our infirm or very busy clients we are happy to meet you at your office, home or nursing home in the northern suburbs of Sydney or on the Central Coast. Alternatively we are also available by appointment at:
