Family lawyers are now legally required to ask you more questions, here's why.
From 1 July 2026, clients may notice some changes at the start of their matter, including more identification checks and, in some cases, questions about where funds are coming from.
These reforms are part of a national push to stop criminals using professional services to move illicit funds, and to bring Australia's legal profession in line with international standards.
We've already updated our onboarding process to reflect these changes, so our clients can move through them with as little friction as possible.
