Qld’s new Premier, David Crisafulli, has fulfilled his election promise. New youth laws have been passed today in State Parliament.

Adult time, adult crime. Tougher penalties for youth offenders committing certain crimes.

As an ex police officer (who doesn’t practice in criminal law), I am passionate about criminal law. I’ve seen first hand the devastation caused by offenders including youths.

I headed down to my local polling booth early this morning, and was asked to check the polling and declaration boxes and sign off on them being sealed.
