Say hello to Rachel 👋

Rachel’s bubbly and energetic personality, paired with her experience in family law matters, provides our clients with comfort and confidence that their matter will be handled thoroughly and with care.

Her expertise centres around property and parenting matters, divorce, and domestic violence applications. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Business (Economics), has been mentored by family law barristers, and was a finalist in the Queensland Law Society’s Excellence in Law Awards for 2025.

At Honan Family Law, Rachel is with you from start to finish, helping clients feel informed, supported and empowered to make the best decisions for their future.

Outside the office, Rachel enjoys practising her tennis skills 🎾 and volunteers her time with a legal centre and community program.

Meet Emma ✨

We are so pleased to introduce Emma as our new Paralegal at Honan Family Law. Emma joined HFL as a Legal Assistant and has already built a strong foundation within the firm, stepping into her paralegal role in April.

Alongside her work, Emma is completing a double degree in Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Psychological Science. She is passionate about pursuing a career in law and firmly believes that everyone deserves strong representation, particularly during some of the most difficult and vulnerable times in their lives.

Emma takes great pride in her role, supporting both our team and our clients with a calm, warm and welcoming approach. Often the first point of contact, she ensures everyone feels at ease and genuinely heard, understanding that even the smallest interactions can make a meaningful difference.

Outside of the office, you’ll find Emma listening to a true crime podcast or spending time with her two huskies 🐾

A valuable weekend in Cairns supporting the Therapeutic Family Law Professionals (TFLP) Regional Outreach Program.

TFLP supports professionals working with families going through separation, with a focus on improving understanding, communication and outcomes for those involved.

Our Director Amy attended in her capacity as an Board Member and reflected on the generosity within the profession, with experienced practitioners giving their time and knowledge to support those assisting families and children through the court process.

As a Firm we are proud to support initiatives that strengthen the profession and help ensure families are supported with care and expertise during what is often a very difficult time.

This morning, Amy Honan our Director of Honan Family Law, attended the event at New Farm Park, now in its fifth year.

At 6am it was pouring rain and it felt like it might be a wet walk, but the weather cleared and the sun came out, making way for a really special morning.

As a family law firm, we see firsthand the impact of domestic and family violence, which is why events like this matter. The walk brings the community together to raise awareness and vital funds for Women’s Legal Service Queensland, who provide critical support to women and children experiencing violence.

An incredible $351,000 was raised this year. A powerful reflection of a community standing together and supporting real change.
