Merger of Bricknell Legal with McAuley Lawyers

We are pleased to announce that from 5th July 2023, that the firms of McAuley Lawyers and Bricknell Legal have merged as a result of Danny Bricknell’s semi-retirement and relocation to regional NSW.

Danny and Steve McAuley, the Principal at McAuley Lawyers, have been closely associated for the last 5 years and McAuley Lawyers look forward to providing the same excellent level of service that you have received from Bricknell Legal. The office at Gladesville will remain open and has the same phone number (9809 1100). Our long standing secretary, Teresa will continue to work with Steve. Danny will be supporting Steve for some time in order to ensure that the transition is smooth and has as little disruption as possible.

Our new office is located at the rear of 265 Victoria Rd Gladesville. There is ample parking in the Council Carpark off Pittwater Rd and, if you need it, we have excellent access for our mobility impaired clients.

An elected Councillor since 2017, I’m the principal of a suburban legal practice in Ryde, and I am seeking re-election to Council. If re-elected, I will continue to focus on issues of serious concern to the profession: mental health, employment issues for young solicitors, simplification of the regulatory burden on the profession (in particular legal costs and the complaints process), and the retention of areas of legal work for small and medium firms. I currently serve as a member of Mental Health, Fidelity Fund and Finance/Audit on Council and as president of North Metropolitan Law Society.

Given the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its declaration by the World HealthOrganisation (WHO) as a public health emergency, we, as are many other businesses, are taking the following steps to help ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of our staff and clients.

Our office at 28 Church Street Ryde will remain operational with one Lawyer and one admin person on site.

The majority of our staff will be working from home. They are fully contactable through our normal phone number and by email.

We have implemented video conferencing capabilities which will be available for the majority of face-to-face meeting requirements.

Meetings in person, when necessary, will only by pre-arranged appointment.
