Let's clear this up 🙋‍♀️ You do NOT need both a solicitor and a conveyancer for a standard property purchase in NSW. A licensed conveyancer (that's us) can handle contract review, settlement, and everything in between, without the law-firm price tag. Solicitors come in for more complex legal matters. For most home buyers and sellers, a conveyancer is all you need.

Even if an email looks genuine, never rely on bank account details sent by email alone.

✅ Always call your conveyancer using a trusted phone number to confirm account details before making any payment.

That one phone call could save you from transferring your money to the wrong account.

Today marks an important change for property transactions across Australia.

The new Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) requirements are now officially in place for conveyancing services.

What does this mean for buyers and sellers?

✅ Identity verification is now mandatory
✅ Client Authorisation Forms must be completed
✅ Politically Exposed Person (PEP) checks are required
✅ Additional customer due diligence obligations apply

While there may be a few extra steps involved, these reforms are designed to help protect Australians from fraud, identity crime, money laundering, and financial crime.
