Visitors panicked when a stray cat slipped into the lion enclosure.Everyone braced for the worst, until the lions ran toward him, purring.

At a zoo in China, an orange street cat calmly walked into the pen and was greeted like royalty. Keepers later explained that years ago, when the lion cubs were rescued from poachers, they found a tiny orange kitten hiding in the same crate. They raised him together in the nursery, and he never left their side.

Now the lions are fully grown, but the cat still eats with them, naps between their paws, and bosses them around like he owns the place. One zookeeper smiled and said,
“He doesn’t see lions. He sees his family. And they see him as their own.”

A Swedish startup called Corvid Cleaning has found a clever way to fight litter using wild crows. According to The Guardian, the company developed a device that rewards crows with food when they drop cigarette butts into it. The machine uses a simple system of operant conditioning, and the crows quickly learned how to trade trash for treats.

The pilot project took place in Södertälje, Sweden, where cigarette butts make up nearly half of the city’s street litter. This approach could save the city millions in cleanup costs while reducing environmental harm. According to CNN, the device is still in the testing phase, but early results are promising.

The crows have shown remarkable intelligence and adaptability, and the startup hopes to expand the program to other cities. By turning one of nature’s smartest birds into a cleanup partner, Corvid Cleaning is showing how innovation and animal behavior can work together to solve real-world problems.

An unfortunate ad placement in the UK sparked a wave of online reactions after a McDonald’s “McCrispy” billboard ended up right next to a road sign pointing to a crematorium.

The photo spread quickly, with locals calling it “unlucky timing” and “accidentally insensitive.” After the image went viral, McDonald’s acknowledged the issue and confirmed the billboard would be removed out of respect for the community.

The ad is now gone but the internet is still debating whether it was an honest slip-up or one of the most unintentionally dark marketing moments ever.
