Community workers from across the region attended a practical training day on the ins-and outs of the NSW Victims Support Scheme, all with the aim of getting better outcomes for their clients. The Community Legal Centres NSW project is being rolled out across the State and yesterday in Dubbo it was the turn of Rachael Robertson and Tori Mines from our Western Women's Legal Support team to present the comprehensive training session to more than 40 enthusiastic frontline workers.
A huge thank you to the 40+ incredible community workers who joined us today at the Western Plains Cultural Centre for the “Victims Services Training for Community Workers” workshop developed by Community Legal Centres NSW and delivered by Rachael and Tori from Western Women’s Legal Support.
It was fantastic to spend the day with such passionate professionals from all over Western NSW, committed to supporting victim-survivors of domestic, family and sexual violence across our communities.
Today’s workshop focused on building knowledge and confidence around the NSW Victims Support Scheme, including understanding eligibility, completing applications accurately, providing supporting evidence, and navigating the application and review process.
We are grateful for the opportunity to share this training and collaborate with so many dedicated workers who make such an important difference every day.
Thank you again to everyone who attended and contributed to such a valuable and engaging day.
