Renewable Energy Projects in the Central West NSW:

The Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) is the first REZ declared in NSW, about 20,000km centred on Dubbo and Dunedoo, expected to deliver 4.5 GW of network capacity initially, rising to 6 GW by 2038, and attract up to $25 billion in private investment.

Approaches to landholders are coming from a broad mix of parties, in and around the REZ:

1. EnergyCo and its REZ transmission builder ACEREZ (ACCIONA, Cobra, Endeavour Energy);

2. Generation and storage developers with REZ access rights, including ACEN , Squadron Energy, Tilt Renewables, Lightsource bp, Pacific Partnerships and Potential Energy;

3. Private solar, wind and battery developers with projects in the region connecting to the existing network;

4. Essential Energy on distribution and sub-transmission easements across the wider region.

Don't sign anything before getting independent legal and valuation advice. Under the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation Act) Act 1991 (NSW), and in most private negotiations, your reasonable legal and valuation costs are paid by the acquiring authority or developer.

Today we say goodbye to our Office Manager, Chris Tongue, of 21 years and 7 months...although some of us are fairly certain he has been here since the beginning of time.😅

After more than two decades of keeping the office running, solving problems, answering questions, surviving photocopiers, keeping everyone in line and occasionally sending a pen flying across the room, it is finally time for a well-earned retirement.
We are going to miss the laughs, the stories, the advice and having someone around who somehow knows absolutely everything that is going on.
Thank you for all your hard work, loyalty and everything you've done for Peacockes and the staff who have worked here over the years.
We hope retirement brings you plenty of golf, plenty of cake (and lemon meringue pies), absolutely no photocopier problems and significantly fewer reasons to throw pens😄.
Happy retirement Chris! You will be missed around the office.❤️

Ahead of a busy spring selling season, know Fair Trading is continuing to take action against underquoting.

Underquoting is where a real estate agent advertises a property at a price which is lower than their reasonable estimate of its selling price which attracts more interest and pushes prices up.

While most property professionals do the right thing, those who push the boundaries should be on notice.

Posing as prospective buyers, inspectors have already attended almost 80 open home inspections resulting in:

• 10 agents being issued fines valued at a total $20,900
• five warnings and
• 16 education directives.

Any property professionals doing the wrong thing will be listed on the Name and Shame Register. Put simply, CGT isn’t a separate tax. It’s the income tax you pay on the profit you make when you sell or dispose of an asset.

This includes things like:
🏠 rental properties
📉 shares
💻 crypto assets.

If you dispose of an asset (meaning, you stop owning it) a CGT event may occur. That’s when you’ll need to report a capital gain or capital loss in your tax return.

Capital gain: will increase the tax you need to pay.

Capital loss: can be used to offset other capital gains you make in the future. This will reduce the tax you need to pay, so don’t forget to report these!
