Our team will be taking a break from 12pm Tuesday 23 December, reopening Monday 19 January 2026.

This time of year can be tender.

For some, it brings connection; for others, it can amplify loss, stress, or loneliness.

We want you to know that you’re not alone in that.

We’re sending gentle wishes for safety, rest, and a little bit of light — however it finds you this holiday season.

Delighted to see our receptionist Claudia heading to Geurie Public School today for Education Week!

Claudia is a proud Geurie Gal, and attended GPS for primary school, before heading to the big smoke of Dubbo for secondary schooling.

Highly successful at the glorious age of 21, Claudia will share some thoughts about her life to date.

Claudia is a bit nervous - which is fair enough! But we all remember those cool adults that came and spoke to us when we were at school. Powerful stuff.

We can’t be, what we can’t see!

🌾 GrainGrowers at the 2025 Australian Summer Grains Conference 🌾
📅 7–9 July 2025 | 📍 Gold Coast, QLD

GrainGrowers will be attending the 2025 Australian Summer Grains Conference, where Rebecca Hurst, (Policy Officer – Sustainability and Natural Resource Management) will be presenting on a topic that’s front of mind for many in the industry.

🎤 Navigating the Emerging Natural Capital Landscape: Considerations for Australian Grain Growers, Tuesday 8th July 2025, 12:10PM, The Marquis Room

As environmental and market pressures continue to mount, Rebecca Hurst will delve into how natural capital is emerging as a vital framework for aligning environmental stewardship with social and financial outcomes on-farm. Her presentation will explore both the opportunities and the complexities of engaging with natural capital markets—and what this means for the long-term sustainability and profitability of Australian grain farms.

From biodiversity stewardship to the evolving Nature Repair Market, Rebecca will offer a balanced and practical perspective on how grain growers can navigate this evolving landscape. She’ll highlight the tools, data, and policy support needed to ensure natural capital delivers real value for growers—without adding unnecessary risk or burden.

Such a great reminder. Whether it is starting the process of farm succession, considering setting up or buying a business, finally getting around to updating your Will… every small part of the process to “getting it done” is valid and important.

Every little bit helps.

This article explores an approach of “thinking things differently”.

There are enormous changes underway, in how land is managed, how food and fibre are grown - and the emissions which are generated from any personal or business activity (regardless of if farm related or another industry).

May many learn from the curiosity of Tony Inder - he saw an opportunity and made it suit him.

He also refused to glibly comply with the standard terms in the agreement he was asked to sign. We don’t know who is advisory team are (maybe Tony & family negotiated it themselves), but they didn’t want exclusivity or confidentiality as part of the terms of any arrangement.

Make any arrangement fit with your business, suit your values & surround yourself with a great advice team who understand the current ecosystem.

Yesterday we joined an accounting firm and their invited clients to explore the conversation around transferring wealth & debt: AND how to create the most amount of opportunities for the family farmer in that process.

There were some very serious chats about the introduction of very short term lending contracts (which are sold as “look! Cheaper interest rate!” ✨)

Not that long ago, it was common place for a family farm to hold a 15 year or 10 year facility.

Ensure your family farm understands the risk management strategies that your advice team can assist you build.

Farming is a loooooooooong term game. It is filled with ups and downs (without notice). Ensure the bank products have the necessary flex to ensure your legal documents can work as planned (or hoped).

Excellent to see a local accounting firm popping on something like this for their clients. No selling. No pushing. Just sharing knowledge on a Friday arvo.

was on display at .co and it seemed a beautiful image to share to acknowledge her ability to brighten a space & a shout out to .kilby for having the vision to make a place in Dubbo for things like this to happen. Classy. Comfortable. Accessible.
