LEGAL ASSISTANT/ PARALEGAL

We're after a friendly, hardworking and reliable candidate to provide legal support and assistance within our small, fast-paced, full-service practice.

The role is a full-time position Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.00pm at our Cowra office. The position is available for immediate start.

The Role:

• Provide administrative and legal support to solicitors
• Manage administration of client files from open to close
• Undertake tasks using Smokeball, PEXA and Infotrack
• Liaise directly with clients, business partners, service providers
• Produce correspondence and prepare court documents
• Prepare conveyancing contracts, searches and submissions
• Provide administrative legal support as required

Skills and Experience:

• Proficient across Microsoft Office
• Excellent attention to detail
• Exceptional communication and organisational skills
• Ability to time-manage and multitask, working to deadlines
• Enthusiastic attitude with initiative
• Friendly, mature, discreet demeanor
• Drivers Licence and car (pref)

Salary will be in accordance with Legal Services Award (2020).

We are looking for a friendly, committed and capable receptionist to join our small, fast-paced practice. The role is a full-time position Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm at our Cowra office.

The Role:
• Greet and welcome clients
• Answer phones and take accurate messages as required
• Attend to all incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
• Order/purchase stationery, office and kitchen supplies
• Undertake general housekeeping and office duties
• Provide administrative legal support as required

Skills and Experience:
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent attention to detail
• Great communication and organisational skills
• Enthusiastic attitude with initiative
• Friendly, mature, discreet demeanour

The role involves mail handling, telephone and reception duties, filing, deliveries and general office duties. The traineeship will run for 12 months during which time you will complete a fully-paid Certificate III in Business Administration.
The successful applicant will be well-presented, organised, reliable and have strong communication skills. This position would be suitable for a recent school leaver who is interested in a career in business administration.
Salary commensurate with age and level of education. Available to start ASAP.

About the Role
We are seeking a full-time, permanent licensed Conveyancer / Conveyancing Paralegal to join our team and perform the following responsibilities:
• Manage the complete conveyancing process from exchange to settlement;
• Review contracts for the sale and purchase of land and seek amendments (residential, commercial, rural and off-the-plan);
• Prepare and process the settlement through PEXA;
• Lodge all RP dealings for registration on PEXA;
• Draft and advise on property documents and leases; and
• Process lost title applications, transmissions and survivorship applications.

About the Candidate
• Proven experience of 3+ years in property and conveyancing
• Strong knowledge of and ability with PEXA
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience with FilePro (preferable)
• Confidence in the review of NSW contracts and seeking amendments
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise
• Ability to work autonomously within a small team environment

Remuneration: competitive and negotiable, commensurate with experience and capabilities.
Starting date: as soon as possible.
