How long is the wait for an Australian parent visa? The honest answer surprises most families.
Right now there are more than 156,000 parent visa applications sitting in the queue. Using the Department of Home Affairs' own data, a new Contributory Parent visa (subclass 143) is looking at around 15 years, and the non-contributory options (103 and 804) can stretch closer to 50.
We've built a free calculator that uses the real Home Affairs figures to estimate your wait: how many applications are ahead of you, the likely grant year, and how old your parent would be when it's finally granted.

The right strategy can genuinely change these timelines. If you'd like to talk through your family's options, we're registered migration agents (MARN 0850840) and we're here to help.
