Be careful if someone encourages you to apply for a Student visa as a way to stay and work in Australia if you’re on a Visitor visa.

New laws now restrict you from applying for a Student visa or Student Guardian visa while in Australia if you’re on a Visitor visa.

Visitor visas are for holidays, and to visit family and friends. They are not a pathway to a Student visa.

The Department of Home Affairs has confirmed a further selection will occur in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Timor-Leste, Vanuatu, Fiji and Tuvalu in the week starting 6 January 2025.

Random selections will be made from those already registered in their country ballot. No new ballot registrations are being accepted for this draw.

Further information will be published closer to the draw date.

Your personal information is personal to you - no one else needs to see it. For those yet to lodge your applications, make sure you get it in by the due date in your ballot letter. If you need information or support, including help finding a job in Australia, please get in contact with your local PEV Support Service team.
