National Volunteering Week 2026 celebrates the theme “Your Year to Volunteer”, recognising the important role volunteers play in our local communities and organisations all across Australia.

At Bundaberg Street Law, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Their contribution extends beyond our drop in legal clinics with their skills and support helping strengthen community connections. A heartfelt Thank You to every volunteer (past and present) who helps us to keep helping others.

Today our CEO Jo Leveritt MAICD was proudly manning the stand at the Bundaberg Regional Council 2026 Volunteering Expo to showcase what we do and engage with potential volunteers.

To think that our charity was started only a few years ago during Covid from very humble beginnings, as Jo explained in a recent interview with Volunteering Queensland which you can read about here "Justice, Made Accessible"

Multicultural Cook and Share next Friday 30th January

🌏 Multicultural Cook & Share is back! 🍽️✨
After the beautiful success of our very first Cook & Share session, we’re excited to be gathering again - this time celebrating Thai cuisine 🇹🇭

Join us for a relaxed and welcoming morning at the Neighbourhood Centre as members of our local Thai community guide us through a cooking demonstration of two much-loved Thai dishes:
🥗 Som Tam (Thai green papaya salad)
🍜 Tom Yum (flavour-packed Thai soup)

There’ll be opportunities to get involved in preparing the dishes, ask questions and learn along the way (recipes provided) and of course, we’ll finish by sharing the meal together around the table. 💚

🍽️ Please bring a small plate of food to share if you can.

📣 RSVP is essential as numbers are limited.

📞 Ph: 41531614
