Today- 3 February 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of Jonathan C Whiting and Associates. It’s been an exiting and absorbing three decades. To summarise I can state that it has been my life’s work and very satisfying. On 3 February 1992 I never envisaged that the journey ahead would present so many challenges but I have been fortunate to be surrounded by a wonderful team. The journey continues.

I just read a post on a forum asking how to find a lawyer in Australia. My immediate reaction is to say ask around your friends and acquaintances whose opinions you respect and see who they recommend. Failing that telephone the Law Society and they will give you a list of three names in a particular area of law. Finally, ignore advertising because it’s not what law firms say about themselves that matters , it is what others say.

Someone asked me the following question a few days ago..."Can you make a WorkCover claim if you are injured at work but are not a permanent resident and are working in the country on a 457 Visa?". The answer is yes as the rights set out in the Workers Compensation & Rehabilitation Act are rights for all workers injured at work regardless of their residency status in Australia.
