If you have a family Trust or run your business through a trust then now, more than ever before, is the time to have your trust deed reviewed.

Trust deeds that haven’t been reviewed in years may no longer serve their purpose—and might create costly tax problems. Queensland’s new 125-year perpetuity rule makes now the time to act.

In our most recent blog post we examine the steps between arrest and the first court date. Essential reading for anyone facing a charge or those supporting them.

When a person is arrested, the immediate aftermath can be disorienting. Whether the alleged offence is minor or serious, it is important to understand what powers the police have, what rights and obligations the accused has, and what steps lay ahead before the matter comes before a court. In our most recent blog post we unpack one of the major challenges facing small business. What happens when something happens to the director? We look at the pitfalls and how they can be cured simply with the right documentation and a little foresight.

https://reardons.net.au/why-every-small-business-should-have-a-company-power-of-attorney/

In the real world, things go wrong. Directors get sick, go overseas, get caught in litigation, or just need someone else to sign something while they’re off-site. Without the right delegation in place, the business can grind to a halt. That’s where a Company Power of Attorney (CPOA) steps in. It...

Giving Back Through Business | Venturer Technology

As business owners, we often think about growth, strategy, and success—but we’re also in a unique position to give back and support the community around us.

Last Sunday, Kristyn and I volunteered at a Bunnings BBQ to raise funds for the Rotary E-Club of NextGen. It was a great reminder that the skills and resources we have in business can make a real difference beyond the boardroom.

The funds raised are going directly to two incredible causes:

Shipping and freight costs to send medical equipment to communities in the Solomon Islands and Cameroon.

Helping Rotary and partnering charities deliver life-saving tools to areas where they’re needed most.

At Venturer Technology, we believe in building strong connections—not just with our clients, but also with the world around us.

If you're a fellow business owner, I encourage you to look at how your expertise, time, or even a weekend sausage sizzle can support the charities and causes you care about. The impact is always bigger than you think.

Do you really have to talk to police?
No, and in Queensland, staying silent might be the smartest—and most lawful—thing you can do.

Whether you're in an interview room, facing a pretext conversation, or being asked to “clear something up,” your silence is a right—not an admission.

Our latest article breaks down:

- Your right to silence under Queensland law

- How the burden of proof really works

- What happens if you half-talk, lie, or delay an alibi

- Why juries are told not to hold silence against you

Stay informed. Stay protected. And for the love of justice—call Reardons before you say a word.

If you’ve ever found yourself muttering “no comment” at the TV during a true crime documentary, you may already have some idea that silence plays a role in criminal law. In Queensland, silence isn’t just golden—it’s legally protected. But like many good things, it can be misunderstood or...

Huge shout out to our friends (and clients) at Quartz Corporation and now the newly minted CZM Finance who have recently navigated what many other businesses find to be a harrowing and rocky process with ease, grace and maturity. It's difficult to see how Grant and Edward could have handled the separation of their business partnership much better than they did which is a testament to the maturity, commerciality and level headedness of these two remarkable businessmen (and terrific indiviuals to boot).

Cannot wait to see both Quartz Corporation and CZM Finance take off in a big way in 2025.

Congratualtions gentlemen.

As we kick-off the new year, Quartz Corporation is excited to announce a new chapter for our business.

Co-founding Quartz Corporation in 2022, Edward Chin is now stepping away from his role as Director & Head of Finance to focus on his new venture, CZM Finance, where he will continue to serve his commercial finance clients. Unlike most breakups, this one is free of tears, as Edward Chin and Grant Brix part ways on friendly terms. Grant will carry forward the Quartz legacy as a full-service commercial real estate agency, and both organisations look forward to continued collaboration and growth. Here’s to a great 2025 for both Quartz and CZM Finance, as well as for all of our clients.
