I will start by saying it was a pleasure yesterday to meet Mr Richard Hughes, CEO of the Ipswich Jets, and Mr Moses Mbye, Ipswich Jets starting halfback.
Both gentlemen generously took a few moments out of their incredibly busy schedules to speak with me about rugby league and the passion that surrounds the game.
While I spend much of my professional life speaking as an advocate, I must admit it took a conscious effort to keep the rugby league fan in me in check when meeting Mr Mbye, who I have watched play for many years.
The Ipswich Jets have a long and proud history, and seeing the club continue to thrive is a true reflection of the people behind it, including leaders like Mr Richard Hughes and players like Mr Moses Mbye.
Rugby league, like many great sports, has a remarkable way of bringing people together and building strong community connections.
As a new resident to the area, it was fantastic to experience that first hand.
Thank you both for the conversation and for the work you continue to do for the Ipswich community and rugby league as a whole.
Go the Jets! 🏉
