REAL QUESTIONS. STRAIGHT ANSWERS. Another call we often receive at the front desk starts something like this: “I was just a passenger…”
That little word “just” points to one of the biggest misconceptions we hear.

Many passengers assume they can't make a claim because they weren't driving.
In Queensland, that's often not the case. If you've been injured as a passenger in a motor vehicle accident, you may still be entitled to compensation, regardless of whether the driver of your vehicle or another driver was at fault.
Every accident is different, so the answer will always depend on the circumstances. That's why it's important not to rule yourself (or your passangers) out based on assumptions.
If you're unsure, ask.

Sometimes a five-minute conversation is all it takes to understand your options.

Real Questions Straight Answers
One call that comes in and never gets old is "The other driver says they're not at fault."
Our answer - That doesn't necessarily mean they aren't.
After a motor vehicle accident, it's quite common for each driver to have a different version of what happened. In some cases, both drivers genuinely believe the other was at fault.
Liability isn't decided by who argues the loudest at the roadside. It's determined by the evidence.
That might include:
📸 Photos of the scene
👀 Witness statements
📹 Dashcam or CCTV footage
🚔 Police reports
🚗 Damage to the vehicles
⚖️ Queensland road rules
If you've been injured, don't assume you don't have a claim simply because the other driver says they're not at fault. Get advice before ruling yourself out.

Medical law is constantly evolving. New decisions, medical developments, and expert insights all shape how these complex matters are understood. Staying informed helps our lawyers ask better questions, examine the evidence carefully and provide clear, considered guidance to our clients.
Because good lawyers never stop learning—and there is always more to understand.

☎️ REAL QUESTIONS. STRAIGHT ANSWERS.
"What's 'No Win, No Fee'... and can I use it for my divorce, drink driving charge or conveyancing?"
We get asked this weekly. The short answer is no.
No Win, No Fee doesn't apply to every area of law.
At Revolution Law, we offer No Win, No Fee for many personal injury claims, including:
🚗 Motor Vehicle Accident (CTP) claims
👷 Workplace Injury (WorkCover) claims
🏥 Many Medical Negligence claims
People often ask why. The simple answer is that personal injury claims are different.
When someone has been injured because of someone else's negligence, there is usually an insurer involved. Before we agree to act on a No Win, No Fee basis, we spend time assessing whether there's a reasonable claim, whether the law supports it, and whether there's likely to be compensation available at the end of the process.
Only then do we take on the financial risk of running the claim.
That process can take anywhere from several months to several years. We gather medical evidence, obtain records, deal with insurers, negotiate settlements and, if necessary, prepare the matter for court.
It's a significant investment of time and resources, which is why No Win, No Fee generally isn't available for areas like family law, criminal law, conveyancing or wills and estates.
If you're ever unsure whether your matter might qualify, ask.
Even if it's not something we handle, we're always happy to point you in the right direction.

☎️ Introducing our new Friday series: The Calls We Get

Every phone enquiry begins with a story—and some really do leave us thinking, “You couldn’t make this up.”

Insurance dramas. Missing front teeth. Slips at fast-food restaurants. A leap over a car park barrier that ended in a three-metre drop. Trucks reversing into everything in sight. Drivers taking off. Dog rescues ending with injuries in places nobody wants injured…

Some stories make us smile. Some break our hearts. Others stay with us for reasons we can’t quite explain.

Our front desk hears them all.

Sometimes we’re the right people to help. Sometimes we’re not. Either way, every caller gets a friendly voice, someone who will listen without judgment and, where we can, point them in the right direction.

So, if you’ve ever thought, “I’m not even sure this is something a lawyer can help with…”—give us a call. Chances are, we’ve heard something equally unusual before. 💙 No judgment. Just real people.

One of the best parts of partnering with the is being able to share experiences like this.

On Saturday night, we were delighted to welcome the Pirates U14 Gold Girls into the Revolution Law corporate box to enjoy an NBL1 home game together.

These young athletes spend countless hours training, travelling and representing their club, so it was a pleasure to give them a night to relax, enjoy some great basketball and cheer on the Pirates from the best seats in the house.

We're proud to support not just the game, but the people who make our local sporting community so special.

Good luck for the rest of your season, girls! 💜🏀
