Resolve Estate Law

Resolve Estate Law Specialist wills and estates law firm - expert in contested estates and complex estate administration

Resolve Estate Law is a Brisbane based boutique law firm specialising in the resolution of estate disputes and estate administration. With over 25 years in practice, Zinta Harris, the owner and founder of the firm is the only solicitor in Queensland holding dual Accredited Specialisations in Succession Law and Business Law. She is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator and Collaborative Lawyer. Our

senior associate Concettina Verma has worked closely with Zinta for over 10 years and our senior paralegal Nanci Sergi keeps our team and our clients well supported. This means that you will have access to a unique combination of experience and skills to help you navigate the legal fallout after the loss of a loved one - knowing that you are in safe and caring hands. We pride ourselves on being approachable and compassionate. We understand that, for many of our clients, they have found themselves in a difficult and unexpected situation so we take a calm, practical approach to find legal and practical solutions as quickly as possible. We prefer to solve difficult estate disputes using out-of-court dispute resolution alternatives like early negotiation, mediation or team facilitation known as collaboration. This often means matters are resolved quickly so that family members can get on with their lives without losing their inheritance paying huge litigation costs. We offer fixed fee probate and letters of administration services and with our business law specialist accreditation we have the expertise to handle even the most complex estate administrations. Resolve Estate Law has been named as a ‘Recommended Firm’ in Queensland in the Leading Estates Litigation Law Firm category (for all consecutive years since 2015) by the Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession. Zinta Harris has been recognised with the 2021 Outstanding Accredited Specialist Award, 2021 QLS Agnes McWhinney award, 2021 Peacemaker of the Year award, 2019 Lawyers Weekly - Women in Law - Sole Practitioner of the Year award and named the 2019 Women Lawyers Association - Trailblazer of the Year for her work in introducing the collaborative practice dispute resolution model to wills and estates. We donate a portion of our professional fees and product sales to First Light Widowed Association - a not for profit charity established to support the newly widowed. If you have lost a loved one, with an estate in Queensland, we would love to help you navigate your next steps to deal with the legal fallout you face, whether that is administering your loved one's estate, or helping you resolve a dispute over the inheritance. If you find it difficult to get to our city premises for an appointment, we offer both phone and Zoom appointments, or we can come to you at your home or business. We also offer a free 15 minute consultation so that we can help you understand your next steps and how we can help you at no cost to you.

I have been a bit quiet on the socials recently... more about that later... but today after being celebrated by my family and celebrating WITH my family - I just want to acknowledge the incredible blessing it is... to be a mum and to be surrounded by both of our mums and to finally have my one and only sister and her family join us for our Mother's Day breaky. ❤️

Craig and I know how very lucky we are. 😍

My day has been truly magical... woken by the fam armed with champagne, heartfelt cards and presents that included matching kpop demon hunter PJs, then a beautiful brunch , gorgeous flowers (thank you ) and and afternoon massage !

💔Sending love to those who found this mother's day difficult - for those who have lost loved ones (mums, sons, daughters, partners, family) for those unable to be mums and those still trying, for those who grieve not being close to their mum and for those separated from their family. I hope you survived the day. ❤️‍🩹

❤️ ❤️

Freedom isn't free.

Paying respects to those who fought for the freedoms we unthinkingly enjoy and for those who continue to sacrifice their lives in service of our country.

We are heartbroken to share the devastating news that Lilly lost her little sister unexpectedly last week.

Our office is closed today so that we can all be with Lilly and her family as they lay beautiful Ella to rest.

Please keep Lilly, Deb, Jayden and Ryan in your thoughts and prayers as they try to cope with their shock, grief and deep loss.

Thank you for the messages of sympathy and your patience with our team at this very sad time.

Since speaking at the Family Law Education Network Disrupting Tradition conference in Sydney over the weekend - and after a great conversation with Jordan Vaka and Nathan Fradley FChFP on their podcast last week - our Resolve Estate Law inbox has been steadily filling with training registrations.

We’ve also had quite a few questions about upcoming dates and locations, so I’ve shared those in the comments below.

I’m planning to run training most months this year to meet demand. That said, it’s not something I’ll be continuing at this pace next year. So if you see a course running near you, and you have this on your radar, it's worth jumping in while you can.

Numbers are intentionally capped to keep the sessions practical, interactive, and genuinely valuable. As a result, places are limited:
✨ My first Sydney training sold out in February.
✨ Canberra training in June (now definitely going ahead) is almost full!
✨ And the second Sydney training in May is also filling fast!

It’s incredibly encouraging to see so many practitioners leaning into a more respectful, thoughtful way of supporting families through estate planning and disputes.

If this approach resonates with you - this is your invitation to join us!

Yesterday was Valentines Day. Not everyone loves Valentines Day.

As estates lawyers we walk adjacent to many who have lost the love of their life.

From them we have learned that:

💔Grief has no time limit and the loss is felt forever.

💔It is really hard to imagine a future when the future you hoped for has been lost.

💔None of the platitudes that others speak provide comfort.

💔It helps to keep talking about their loved one by name - it keeps their memory alive.

💔Grief can't be fixed it can only be carried.

💔Just because soneone carries it well doesn't mean that it's easy or that they have "moved on".

💔You don't move on, you work out how to live on.

💔Anniversary dates, birthdays, fathers days, mothers days, Valentines days and Christmases - pretty much ANY special days will be painful days.

💔Loss rearranges everything.

💔You don't move through stages of grief you bounce around between them - some days are worse than others.

💔Time doesn't heal the hole in your heart you just work out how to cover the wound so others don't see it.

💔Loss gets integrated - not overcome.

Yesterday was Valentines day. Sending massive love to anyone who found yesterday hard.

✨Every day we get is precious. Every one counts.✨What made your day today?

After another big year, we are taking a break.

Wishing you, your famiy and friends a Christmas full of peace, joy and love.

For those missing their loved ones we know this time of year can be particularly hard. Whether you are taking comfort in memories and traditions or escaping the usual to do something different - we hope you find moments of light and love during this holiday season.

We will be back on deck on Tuesday 13 January 2026 as we look forward to another year doing what we love.

Until then you might see some catch up posts that were missed in our busy lead in and some of Zinta's family holiday pics from Latvia!
