Meet our new Senior Associate Alison Slocombe!

Alison has worked exclusively in family law since 2007 including with respect to difficult parenting and complicated property matters. In June 2015 Alison obtained her Master of Law (Applied Law) majoring in Family Law.

We are so grateful to have Alison join the Stewart Family Law team. We know that her expertise will be of immense assistance to our clients.

We’re pleased to share that our Director, Judy Stewart, has been recognised as “Lawyer of the Year” in Family Law (Brisbane) in the 2027 edition of Best Lawyers, published in the Courier Mail on 16 April 2026.

Judy has been included in the latest edition of The Best Lawyers in Australia for her work in Family Law and Family Law Mediation.

Today marks 15 years since we opened our doors!

Yesterday our team celebrated another successful year by taking a pottery class at Mas & Miek Ceramic House and with lunch at Nonda.

Our office will close at 12:00pm on Friday 19 December 2025 for the Christmas period. We will reopen at 8:30am on Monday 5 January 2025. From the team at Stewart Family Law, we wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Meet our new paralegals, Sarah Stevens and Cherise Ah Loy!

Sarah is a highly experienced legal secretary who has worked predominately in family law since 2017. Her strong organisational skills and attention to detail ensure clients and solicitors are supported efficiently and professionally. Sarah has worked closely with family law practitioners throughout her career and brings valuable knowledge and practical experience to our team.

Cherise is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Business (International Business) at the Queensland University of Technology. Cherise has gained experience across a range of legal areas including family law, commercial law, personal injury and conveyancing. This diverse background has equipped her with a broad understanding of legal processes and a strong foundation for supporting clients and solicitors.

Sarah and Cherise are dependable and approachable points of contact at Stewart Family Law, providing exceptional support to deliver the best possible client experience and outcomes.

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Viv Withanage to paralegal and to celebrate her 21st birthday today!!! Viv is such a vibrant and valued member of our team.

Viv is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Queensland. Viv is a member of UQ Law Society and previously competed in the UQ Junior Moot.
