When a child does not want to see the other parent, it can be a complex and emotionally charged situation. There could be various reasons why a child is reluctant to spend time with one of their parents. ANZAC Day has come to represent not only the bravery and sacrifice of the ANZAC troops at Gallipoli but also the sacrifice of all Australian and New Zealand service members who have served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations since then. It is a time for Australians and New Zealanders to reflect on the sacrifices made by service members and to honor those who have served and continue to serve their country.
Today we remember and honor the bravery and sacrifice of the ANZAC troops who fought for our freedom and values. We owe a debt of gratitude to those who served, and we will never forget the sacrifices they made. Let us take a moment to reflect on the courage and selflessness of our service members, and to honor those who have served and continue to serve our country. Lest we forget. πŸŒΉπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ

For many families, Easter is a time of togetherness, religious and cultural traditions, relaxation, joy and chocolate!

Unfortunately, if you have found yourself in a place of conflict following a separation, you will know this isn’t always the case for some separated families. It can be a time of confusion, conflict, stress, avoidance and sadness. If arrangements have not been previously discussed and agreed on, there can be a lack of structure which will require increased communication with your co-parent during an already stressful and unknown time.

This is why including Easter in your parenting plan discussions and negotiations is so important. Talking about these things early rather than at the last minute is always best.

Follow the link for the latest blog that looks at 3 ways that you can include Easter in parenting arrangements.

It's not uncommon for parties to not reach an agreement in the first session of mediation. The mediator's role is to facilitate communication and help parties explore options for resolution, but ultimately it's up to the parties to decide on agreements together.

Even if the parties don't reach an agreement in the first session, mediation is still a valuable process. It can help parties clarify the issues that need to be addressed in order to resolve the dispute as well as understand each other's perspectives.

It is normal to feel disheartened if an agreement isn't reached in the first mediation session. It is important not to give up and lose hope as it takes time and important decisions shouldn't be rushed. Each time you mediate you get closer and closer to narrowing down the issues and coming to an agreement. Here at Bendigo Mediation, you can book hour by hour after your initial joint mediation session. This allows parties to think about proposals, gather more information or consult with experts to help them make informed decisions.

While it may seem an easier solution in the short term, burying your head in the sand and avoiding certain situations can make things worse and prevent you from moving forward into the future.
Avoiding your problems can have negative consequences, including:
Escalation: When you avoid your problems, they often get worse over time. Small problems can turn into bigger problems, and difficult situations can become even more challenging to resolve.
Increased stress and anxiety: Avoiding your problems can increase stress and anxiety. You may worry about the problem and the potential consequences of not addressing it, which can affect your mental and emotional well-being.
Missed opportunities: Avoiding your problems can lead to missed opportunities for growth and learning. You may miss out on opportunities to develop new skills, strengthen relationships, or achieve your goals.
Procrastination: Avoiding your problems can lead to procrastination, where you put off addressing the problem until it becomes even more urgent or challenging. This can lead to a cycle of avoidance and procrastination that can be difficult to break.
Negative impact on relationships: Avoiding your problems can also have a negative impact on your relationships. You may avoid difficult conversations or confrontations, which can lead to a breakdown in communication and trust.
Overall, avoiding your problems may provide temporary relief, but it can have negative consequences in the long term. It's important to address your problems and challenges head-on, even if it feels uncomfortable or difficult, in order to prevent the situation from escalating and to find solutions that can help you move forward.
By lifting your head out of the sand, you can tackle the problems that are preventing you from seeing over the horizon and into the future to bigger and better things.
Mediation provides a safe and supportive forum for you to tackle those difficult conversations and problems. If you or someone you know is burying their head in the sand because they are facing difficult times and it feels too hard, give us a call to see how we can help you (or them) move forward into a bigger and better future.

Mediation can effectively address workplace bullying and find a resolution that works for everyone involved. Here are some ways in which mediation can help with workplace bullying:
Provides a neutral third party: Mediation involves a neutral third party who can help facilitate a conversation between the parties involved in the bullying situation. This can provide a safe and non-threatening space for employees to discuss the issue and work towards a resolution.
Allows for open communication: In mediation, each party has the opportunity to express their concerns and feelings in a controlled and respectful environment. This can help to uncover underlying issues and address misunderstandings that may have contributed to the bullying.

Focuses on finding a solution: Mediation aims to find a resolution that works for everyone involved. The mediator can help facilitate the discussion and guide the parties towards a solution that meets their needs and addresses the bullying behavior.
Encourages accountability: Mediation can help hold individuals accountable for their actions and provide a path forward to prevent the bullying from happening again.
Maintains relationships: Workplace bullying can damage relationships and make it difficult for individuals to work together effectively. Mediation can help to repair relationships and create a more positive work environment.
Mediation can provide a proactive and collaborative approach to addressing workplace bullying. By providing a safe and neutral space for discussion and working towards a solution that meets everyone's needs, mediation can help to create a more positive and productive work environment.
Everyone has the right to a safe and supportive work environment free from violence, abuse and threat. Call the team at Bendigo Mediation for more information about workplace mediation and training 0438 023 155 [email protected]

Conflicts in the workplace can have significant emotional effects on individuals involved, as well as the entire work environment. Some of those effects include:

Stress and Anxiety: Conflict can cause stress and anxiety for those involved, as well as those who witness it. Employees may experience physical symptoms such as headaches, insomnia, and stomachaches due to stress and anxiety.

Anger and Frustration: Workplace conflict can evoke strong emotions such as anger and frustration, particularly when the conflict involves personal or professional issues that are important to the parties involved.

Reduced Motivation: Employees who are involved in conflict may become less motivated to perform their job duties or to come to work at all. This can lead to decreased productivity and ultimately impact the overall success of the company.

Low morale: Conflict can create a negative work environment, which can lead to low morale among employees. This can lead to decreased job satisfaction and ultimately result in employee turnover.

Depression: Conflict can lead to feelings of hopelessness and despair, which can contribute to depression. Employees who experience depression may be less productive, may have difficulty concentrating, and may need to take time off work.

Relationship Damage: Conflict can damage relationships between employees, as well as between employees and management. This can lead to mistrust, resentment, and decreased collaboration.

Conflicts in the workplace can have significant emotional effects on the individuals involved, as well as the entire work environment. It is important for companies to take steps to address conflicts in a timely and effective manner to minimize these effects and maintain a positive work environment.

If you or someone you know is experiencing any of these emotional effects because of a workplace conflict make sure you have appropriate support and talk to your HR rep or manager about conflict resolution solutions.
