🎙️NSW Property Contracts Have Changed
Important update for NSW property owners, buyers and agents.
From 1 June 2026, the new 2026 Contract for Sale of Land officially replaces the 2022 edition.
Using an outdated contract after this date could expose vendors to significant legal risk, including the possibility of a purchaser rescinding the contract and recovering their deposit — even in circumstances where the contract would normally be considered unconditional.
What has changed?
The 2026 edition includes updates to:
✔️ Statutory warning notices
✔️ Cooling-off and rescission provisions
✔️ Prescribed disclosure wording
✔️ Electronic conveyancing clauses
✔️ Legislative references and annexures
What should you do?
If you have:
• A current listing on the market
• A contract prepared earlier this year
• An auction campaign underway
• A withdrawn or relisted property
• Saved contract templates or PDFs
…it may be time to review and update your contract.
