Special memories of a special man!
A message from John Rutherford, Jim’s son:

Today the 3/7/25, my father Jim Rutherford passed away aged 97 at Nareen Gardens. Dad and mum, Dorothy, got their land at 1 Hilltop Street in a Crown land ballet in 1964. They built this first house they ever owned having been country school teachers (it still has the original hardwood frame in it). It was a holiday house for 6 years before being our family home from 1973. Yes we watched the dirt track to Crackneck advance to bitumen and all the other growth happen. Always will be our home. Dad served the Bateau Bay community through KB lions and other charities . RIP dad.

Thank you John, for sharing this news and thank you for the photo of your Mum and Dad. Please know, the community is thinking of you and your family.

I’m a bit obsessed with my succulent collection, I think it’s because it reminds me of the 70’s. But like an addict there’s never enough and I’m always wanting more. I add to the collection regularly and then the buzz is lost and I want more.

I love discovering different and unusual ways to display them.

I’m always looking for new ways to display them.

Who can relate?

The first time I saw this image, I literally laughed out load.

It could have been my partner standing there, holding the same sign about me! 😆😆

There are definitely times when those close to me have threatened intervention.

Emergency services on scene at serious motorcycle crash on The Entrance Road (Central Coast Hwy), near Mossman Ave.

A medical team has been tasked from Belmont to attend.

Years ago, I moved into a place with fake grass. My neighbour Bob, whom we hadn't even met yet, started mowing the grass on the council strip in front of our house.

The backyard was full of synthetic grass so the front section was the only real grass we had.

As we thanked him we learned that he used to do it for the previous tenants. For the next year or so Bob continued to mow our lawn whenever he did his own. And we showed our appreciation by leaving a six-pack on his doorstep each time.

Eventually, Bob moved away, and we were responsible for our lawn.

Having worked with thousands of buyers and sellers over the years I’ve heard many stories about great, and not-so-great neighbours.
