With the announcement of borders reopening to international travelers, we have been getting questions about who can enter, leave and whether a travel exemption is still required.

From 1 November 2021, the following persons are allowed to enter Australia or leave without requiring an exemption:

1. Parents of citizens;
2. Permanent residents.

The conditions on entry/exit is that you must be fully vaccinated.

The next stage, which is yet to be announced, but hopefully towards the end of November, sees the borders opening up to international travelers for:

1. International students; and
2. Working visa holders.

Hence, if you do hold a temporary visa at the moment and wish to enter Australia or leave Australia, a travel exemption is still required.

Should you have any questions regarding the processes, feel free to contact us for a free consultation.

Great news in NSW for LGA's of concern:

1. No limit on the duration of outdoor exercise and recreation (previously a two-hour limit)
2. Outdoor gatherings of up to five fully vaccinated people (not including children aged 12 and under) will be allowed in a person’s LGA or within 5km of home. Previously only fully vaccinated household members could gather outdoors, or up to two fully vaccinated people from different households
3. Shopping, exercise and outdoor recreation can be done 5km from home or within your LGA (previously only 5km from home)
4. Attend a small wedding (maximum 11 people) in Greater Sydney as a guest (previously only allowed in their LGA)
5. A person’s single’s bubble buddy can live in Greater Sydney (previously must have resided within 5km of a person’s home). A person from a LGA of concern can also now be a buddy for someone in Greater Sydney.

Restrictions in local government areas of concern will start to align with other lockdown areas, as vaccination rates continue to rise in Sydney’s West and South-West.

Did you know that when a personal guarantee is provided for a new loan in a corporate entity, that independent legal advice (advice from another solicitor) is required?

This is because the corporate entity is a separate entity from your personal self.

Should you require independent legal advice, we accommodate individuals during this lockdown period. Whether this is through Zoom or other avenues such as personally going to see you. Our staff are fully vaccinated and adhere to wearing masks in enclosed areas. Feel free to contact us if you have any queries.

We often get asked "what is the role of a lawyer in a property conveyance?

Our role is to ensure the legalities of the contract are sound to minimise your risk should anything falter. Furthermore, to guide you through the transaction so it is as seamless as possible.

We have settled thousands of property transactions whether this is in NSW or interstate. If you are considering selling/buying a property, feel free to contact our office for a friendly chat regarding our procedures and how we will assist you with your next property. 😊
