⚠️ On Monday 27 July 2026 at 12pm AWST, the Australian Government will send a test alert to all mobile phones across Australia, as part of the trial for a new emergency notification system, AusAlert.

It may override silent and "Do Not Disturb" settings. If you rely on a safe phone, it's important that you take steps to ensure your safety.

If safe to do so, turn off any hidden device before the scheduled test for at least an hour.

🚨 One month to go until the AusAlert national test.

On Monday 27 July 2026 at 12pm (AWST), a national test of Australia's new emergency warning system will be sent to compatible mobile devices.

⚠️The alert will produce a loud warning sound and vibration, even if devices are on silent or Do Not Disturb.⚠️

For people experiencing family and domestic violence, unexpected alerts may impact safety, wellbeing or privacy.

If this may affect you or someone you support, now is the time to start planning and discussing options.

Regional court sittings resume from 3 August — welcome news for communities across the Great Southern. RAJA's full statement below.

The announcement that regional court sittings will resume from 3 August is welcome news for regional and remote communities across Western Australia.

For the people whose matters have been delayed or disrupted over recent weeks, the restoration of local court services is an important step forward.

At the same time, this experience has highlighted broader structural challenges that continue to shape access to justice in regional WA.
