We are incredibly proud of our Managing Director, Joe De Ruvo, who will be representing our firm and taking part in his third Vinnies SA CEO Sleepout on 18 June.

Joe will sleep outdoors to raise awareness and funds for the many Australians sadly experiencing homelessness.

Our goal is to help raise vital funds that support people experiencing homelessness by providing access to safe, stable accommodation and essential support services.

📈✈️ When forecasts go wrong: the legal risks of relying on future projections

Our recent article highlights an important lesson for businesses: forecasts and future projections can shape major commercial decisions - but what happens when those forecasts miss the mark?

The case involving United Petroleum, Perth Airport and Qantas considered claims that business decisions were made based on expectations around future airport developments and projected traffic growth. When those expectations did not eventuate as anticipated, it raised important questions about misleading or deceptive conduct, commercial risk, and the legal consequences of relying on forward-looking information.

Businesses considering major investments, leases, or commercial arrangements should carefully assess assumptions underpinning forecasts and future projections before making key decisions.

DWFT News | Livable Housing Design Standard changes postponed in South Australia

The implementation of changes to the Livable Housing Design Standards has been deferred in South Australia, providing builders and developers with additional time to transition to the updated requirements under the National Construction Code. Recent amendments confirm extended concessions for certain developments and a further extension for alterations and additions to existing homes to continue to be assessed under the NCC 2019 provisions.
