📢 Important changes are coming to the property industry from 1 July 2026.
New Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) obligations will apply to conveyancers across Australia, introducing additional requirements as part of the conveyancing process.
What does this mean for you? 🤔
You may be asked to complete identity verification earlier in your transaction, provide additional information where companies or trusts are involved, or answer questions relating to the source of funds being used to purchase property.
For most clients, these changes will simply become another step in the conveyancing process.
Our office has been preparing well in advance of these reforms. We’ve invested significant time in understanding the new requirements, reviewing our processes and implementing systems to ensure we can continue delivering a seamless and efficient experience for our clients.
To our colleagues across the industry, we recognise this is a significant shift for many businesses. We’re always happy to connect, share insights and support one another as we navigate these changes together.
If you have any questions about how the AML/CTF reforms may impact your upcoming property transaction, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
We’re ready, and we’ve got you covered. 🏡
