LGP Lawyers at the Green Peak Festival Abu Dhabi
For the third time this year, after exceptional events in Vienna and Belgrade, the Green Peak Festival (GPF Global) took place in Abu Dhabi on 5 November.
LGP has been part of the GPF from the very beginning, and we fully support the festival’s ambitions and guiding principles of promoting sustainability, innovation, and social climate responsibility. These align closely with our legal expertise and our work with clients on the intersection of law, business, and sustainability.
We were once again proud sponsors of the event and look forward to continuing our collaboration with GPF Global as it expands its reach into China and Africa.
Our Managing Partner Gabriel Lansky took part in the panel “Navigating the Global Green Transformation Amidst Disruption.”
In his remarks, he emphasized that Europe’s ambitious climate agenda can only succeed through genuine global cooperation, by turning regulatory frameworks into enforceable, investable partnerships with regions such as the MENA. He underlined that “Europe is not here to teach the world, but to cooperate with the world.”
He also reflected on how the global geopolitical landscape has fundamentally changed since the early days of the Von der Leyen Commission. This shift, he noted, is reshaping climate policy priorities and highlights the urgent need to move from strategy to realization - from setting goals to achieving tangible results.
Ultimately, he called for a joint effort between governments and businesses to implement existing climate regulations and turn them into shared, practical action. Only through such collaboration can the global green transformation move from policy to true impact.
Alongside him on the panel were:
Beatrice Atim Anywar, Minister of State for Environment, Republic of Uganda
Domagoj Milosevic, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia, Entrepreneur
Jovanka Porsche, CEO and Co-Founder of HP Capital Partners, Chairwoman at Global Neighbours
Johannes Hahn, Former European Commissioner for Budget and Administration; EU Special Envoy for Cyprus
The discussion was moderated by Sanja Radlovacki.
The GPF was preceded by an exceptional Partners & Speakers Dinner on the night before, where our Managing Partners Anna Zeitlinger and Arlind Zeqiri were also present, providing an excellent opportunity to connect with leading voices in sustainability and innovation across the region, and to catch up with friends from Austria.
A special thank you to Daniel Gros and Aleksandar Gros, Founders of the GPF, as well as Mohammed Sulaiman Alfahim, Co-Founder and Member of the Council of the GPF Abu Dhabi, for organizing an outstanding event.
We would also like to acknowledge H.H. Sheikha Dr. Shamma Mohammed Khalid Al Nahyan, President of the Council of the GPF Abu Dhabi, for her leadership and commitment to advancing the festival’s mission.
