🌍 Earlier this year, our students from Навчально-науковий інститут права КНУ імені Тараса Шевченка came back from the INADR The InterNational Academy of Dispute Resolution | UG Mediation Tournament in Georgia with some exciting news!

We were part of an inspiring group of 22 teams from around the world – including Ireland, India, Poland, the USA, Greece, and Georgia.
And… we made it to the finals! 💥

✨ Team №3 – Erika Kavatsiuk, Yuliia Shumylo, Aurika Solomakha – proudly took 3rd place in the Best Mediator Team category!
⭐️ And huge congratulations to Erika Kavatsiuk for placing 4th individually in Best Mediator!

The 23rd Annual International Law School Mediation Tournament at Loyola University has come to a close, and we are thrilled with the outcome!

The team from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv ✨made it to the finals!✨ After the successful performance of Diana Deputat and Oleksandra Antypenko in the semi-finals, Erika Kavatsiuk and Oleksandra Antypenko played in the finals against Loyola University School of Law. We are pleased to say that our team came 🏆 2nd🏆 in the “Advocate/Client Team” category! Also, Erika Kavatsiuk and Diana Deputat received individual awards, and ranked ⭐️10th⭐️ in the “Advocate/Client” category.

We are incredibly proud of our Ukrainian team, who have made it to the finals in the INADR competition for the second year in a row.

Hey there! We keep sharing our amazing experience from the 23rd Annual International Law School Mediation Tournament at Loyola University!

Our students had a blast participating in three preliminary rounds on March 7th and 8th. They played the roles of mediator, advocate, and client while competing and mediating with students from some of the top law schools like Cardozo Law School, University of Nebraska College of Law, University of Houston Law Centre, Fordham University School of Law, University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Berkeley Law, UT Dallas, and Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Our students had a fantastic time and learned a lot from their peers, making this experience invaluable.

And, we're proud to announce that our team has ✨made it to the semi-finals in the "advocate/client" category✨. We can't wait to see the results!

We are thrilled to announce that the team from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv has arrived in Chicago to participate in the 23rd Annual International Law School Mediation Tournament at Loyola University in Chicago, IL, USA by INADR The InterNational Academy of Dispute Resolution.

This year, the team is represented by students from the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law, Erika Kavatsiuk, Oleksandra Antypenko, and Diana Deputat, along with coaches Kateryna Manetska and Lidiia Vatutina.

The team is excited to compete with students from over 20 different law schools from around the world.

📣The students from the Навчально-науковий інститут права КНУ імені Тараса Шевченка (TSNUK) are back from the incredible INADR | MRU Mediation Tournament, hosted by the INADR The InterNational Academy of Dispute Resolution and Mykolas Romeris University (MRU)!

This year competition was fantastic as we had five outstanding students taking part, including two being part of mixed teams with students from Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, USA and Lithuania. Our team joined a vibrant group of 14 teams from all corners of the world: Ireland, Turkmenistan, India, Lithuania, Poland, Singapore and more.

We are thrilled to share that one of our students, Lipkevych Yurii, a part of the MRU/TSNUK mixed team, participated in the finals as a mediator, and his team got a 3rd place as the Top Mediator Team!

Our hearts are bursting with pride for our talented students and the thrilling competition they had. And guess what? We can't wait for the next ones—more excitement awaits on the horizon! 🤩

9 листопада відбулась лекція-дискусія з участю професора Девіда Даулінґа на тему «Медіація в кризові період».

Під час заходу Девід, разом із українськими медіаторами, юристами, суддями та студентами-правниками, обговорювали:
- аспекти медіації та вирішення конфліктів
- особливості розвитку медіації в Україні
- роль медіаторів в популяризації медіації
- можливості для розвитку медіації в судових спорах
- медіацію в кризові часи, зокрема, під час війни та політичних конфліктів

Лекція-дискусія відбулась за підтримки від організації GEMME Ukraine. Крім того, Клуб медіації та переговорів висловлює велику вдячність голові Господарського суду Київської області, пану Павлу Горбасенку, за активну участь у сприянні цього заходу.

Let us reflect on the wonderful three-week mediation journey that we had with Prof. David Dowling.

It was a hybrid course with two weeks of online learning and one week of onsite activities at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. We are extremely grateful to David for coming to Ukraine and sharing his expertise and invaluable insights with young meditation enthusiasts. It was an unforgettable and unique experience for the students and organisers.

A heartfelt thank you to all the dedicated students who brought passion, enthusiasm, and curiosity to every moment of the course. Your proactive engagement has been the driving force behind the success of this program.

Our Club is also grateful to the Institute of Law of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv for supporting this education opportunity and helping us promote peaceful dispute resolution among Ukrainian students.

Hi friends!

This past Wednesday, on November 8, we had the pleasure of hosting a special event featuring two remarkable mediation professionals: David Dowling and Наталія Ковалко.

David and Nataliia came together to exchange their experiences of becoming mediators in Ukraine and the US. They discussed the current state of the mediation in Ukraine, with Nataliia sharing her insights on the effects of the ongoing full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine on the mediation profession.

We are grateful to David and Nataliia for such a productive and interesting discussion, and appreciate the engagement of young law students in the dialogue.

The event was a part of David Dowling’s three-week course for Ukrainian students, “Mediation: Theory and Practice”.
