rebecca lynn sprague’s* songs are tenderly dominated by a crystal-clear head voice, textured by an impassioned vibrato. There is power in the music’s vulnerability, which draws listeners to compare rebecca to North American folk icons like Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, and artist Adrianne Lenker.
Accompanying sprague’s unmistakable voice and dexterous melodies are the classic sounds of Western guitar blended with a simple digital synthesizer. These instruments audibly illustrate an uncommon balance between convention and experimentation, while providing only the necessary structure to contain rebecca’s singing. As David Baldinger (Ö1, Austria’s Premier National Radio) noted: “Sprague does not need much to impress; [their] voice and minimalist synthesizer are enough.”
Rebecca will be joined on stage by artist, Pauline Knibbe-Klimt.
