UAE Succession Law(Updated)
The Dubai Law Number 15 of 2017 lays down the provisions with regard to inheritance, wills, and probate for non-Muslim expatriates within Dubai. This law affirms that non-Muslim expatriates can register their wills in English by virtue of internationally recognized Common Law. The Non-Muslim Wills and Probate Registry was established in Dubai and DIFC under the said Law; and will empower non-Muslims with assets in Dubai to have the choice to sidestep the Sharia Law and enable them to apply the legitimate system of their choice for their estates.

Redundancy is one of the most contested topics in any jurisdiction. There is an unfairness aspect in redundancy as the employee in question is out of a job (generally) due to no fault of his/her own. In the UAE, there are no separate redundancy laws and the only circumstance where an employee who is on an unlimited contract is terminated if his/her performance does not meet the benchmark required or if he/she has carried out and committed a crime (false documentation, under the influence of drugs etc.). However, with Artifical Intelligence replacing or removing certain positions, redundancy of employment is proving to be inevitable.
However, UAE laws require and uphold fairness to all parties in question. Therefore, as per UAE Labour Law (Federal Law Number 8 of 1980), as amended, employees in the UAE are entitled to benefits upon the termination of their contract. Some of these benefits include payment for unused holidays, compensation as per contract, service benefit or gratuity (in the absence of company pension scheme) and so on.
