Besonders relevant kann dies werden, wenn Sie mindestens 1 % an einer Kapitalgesellschaft halten, zum Beispiel an einer GmbH. In bestimmten Fällen kann Deutschland beim Wegzug eine fiktive Veräußerung der Anteile annehmen – auch wenn tatsächlich kein Verkauf stattgefunden hat.

Wichtig ist außerdem: Das Doppelbesteuerungsabkommen zwischen Deutschland und den VAE ist zum 31. Dezember 2021 ausgelaufen und wurde nicht verlängert. Wer den Umzug nach Dubai plant, sollte daher nicht nur Immobilie, Visum und Lebensqualität betrachten, sondern frühzeitig auch die steuerliche Seite professionell prüfen lassen.
