Important ESR Update – Do not Miss the Filing Deadline Starting 30 June 2020

Following the implementation of the UAE “Economic Substance Regulations” (ESR) in April 2019, all onshore and free zone companies registered in the UAE are required to abide by the economic substance test in relation to their business activities.

The economic substance also applies for businesses involved in international operations, which now must demonstrate that they have an adequate presence and carry on economic activities in the jurisdiction in which they are a tax resident.

The filing deadline will start from 30 June 2020, depending on the financial year of the company.


You, therefore, need to promptly assess your corporate status to ensure you satisfy the necessary requirements for substance, notification and reporting obligations.

is currently looking to hire a UAE based, experienced Accountant for the position of "Accounts Executive " who will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Head of Finance in managing accounting and book-keeping activities through appropriately processing accounting transactions in compliance with the company’s policies, procedures, and practices.

*Duties and Responsibilities**

• Prepare & post manual and automated journal entries, keeping the general ledger up to date and assist with monthly closings as per the calendar/checklists.
• Receive & verify invoices and ensure proper cost center and account code-wise booking in the system.
• Prepare cheques and processing of wire transfers (local, foreign, projects & assets) – verify and match invoices, obtain all signatures and distribute cheques accordingly. Ensure proper payment is made to all vendors in a timely manner.
• Monthly reconciliation of the vendor statements for all local payables ensuring Payable Balance with the Vendor, Vendor and Company books should be showing the same balance.
• Coordination with different department teams for timely processing of supplier payments.
• Prepare and record debit and credit notes to ensure timely & correct recording of transactions
• Assist in timely Monthly Closing and GL Reviews. Prepare Monthly Reports and other Adhoc Reports
• Coordinates, and performs a wide variety of office support activities, admin services, logistical support to all departments in the firm
• To work with discretion on confidential assignments, figures, and reports for the Firm.

*Qualifications, Skills, and Experience*

• Master’s degree in Finance/Business required CA or equivalent would be an advantage
• VAT knowledge and experience is a must
• 4 - 5 years’ experience in accounting and book-keeping preferably from a Law Firm or Consultancy Company in the UAE.
• 2 years of large ERP system experience preferably Quickbooks
• Knowledge & understanding of Accounting Principles
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and good organization skills are a must
