THIRD AVE DIP WILL NOT OPEN TODAY
Morné Steyn, Ward 6 - Nelson Mandela Bay councillor, said they have noticed that an advisory was issued yesterday that the 3rd Avenue dip would open today.
"This statement was issued by the contractor without our knowledge. The opening of the new road is necessary in order for the slipway into Allan Drive to be constructed on the current road. We were advised that this is planned for Monday," Steyn said.
He further said that this notification was insufficient for today and the opening of the road has been postponed until Monday.
"Retractions and correction statements will be issued. The intended finalisation of the project is still envisaged for 23 May."
