The Fintech industry is evolving rapidly, and governance and regulatory frameworks are struggling to keep pace with innovation. I know I have had my share of struggles with getting timeous approvals for “Go to Market Strategies” and I can unashamely share that, I have repeatedly asked my self if governance as I apply it is fit for a Fintech.
Regulators are tightening rules to protect consumers from fraud, data breaches, unfair financial practices, ethical lending, ESG standards, Board Independence, amoung other areas. Regulatory harmonization, particularly in areas like digital payments and cross-border remittances will benefit Fintech firms operating across borders, to what extent ?
Is governance as I know it, apply it, understand it fit for Fintech, is there opportunity to create agile
decision making without compromising governance principles?
“Now you know what keeps me up at night these days”
